Martlets把游戏丢给了Kent

The Martlets welcomed the Lions from Kent to Jackson Rink for an early afternoon game on Saturday afternoon. The Martlets have been battling to get on the right side of one-goal games and the team was excited to have another opportunity on Saturday. Kent has had a solid year thus far and is in the mix for postseason play. The Martlets played hard in the first period and despite being down 1-0 early in the period the team carried the play for most of the first frame.  George McCaffrey '25 scored his second goal in the last two games to tie the game at 1 before the period ended. The Martlets evaluated their game in the second period and found the back of the net twice (Derek Rhodes '25 and Nico Tstatas were your goal scorers) before the period ended to take a 3-1 lead into the 3rd.  Kent came out firing in the final period and responded with two goals of their own to tie the game at 3 with just about 6 minutes left to play. Both teams had some great opportunities in the final 5 minutes of play but both goalies played well to keep the game tied at 3. With just under a minute left to play, Kent had the Martlets hemmed in their zone and after a few failed clearing attempts the Lions netted the game-winner with just about 40 seconds left to play. Not the outcome the Black and Gold was looking for but another learning moment for the team.
